Spoken word is considered one of the oldest forms of spoken art. Contemporary spoken word poetry has gained many followers over the years in the poetry circle. Spoken word poetry encompasses elements of rap, hip-hop, storytelling, theater, and jazz, rock, blues, and folk music. Some of most renowned poets that have contributed to the art are, Recording Artist Jill Scott, Rudy Francisco, Crystal Valentine, Pages Matam, Jasmine Mans, Carvens Lissaint, Kai Davis, and many more… So, get ready to sit back, relax and engage your sensory chakras through this cathartic expression of art!
